Tips for Newcomers to Fortnite

Welcome to Fortnite Battle Royale! This guide is a collection of tips and tricks I've learned over the last year of playing. It's aimed at new players, but many of these tips apply to veterans too. I hope you find it useful!

1. Under Control

The first thing to keep in mind is that this is a battle royale game. That means you’re going to be in a very hostile environment with 99 other players, and you’re going to be under a lot of pressure.

That’s why, if you’re new to the game, you should keep your cool and stay under control. Don’t try to be a hero, stay calm and take careful but decisive steps.

2. Be Alert

It’s important to understand that Fortnite is a very fast-paced game that also has a lot of random elements to it. You have to be on your toes at all times, as you have to be ready to react to anything that may happen around you.

You should never be idle, you should always be moving, and you should always be aware of where you are and where the enemies are. If you aren’t, you’re not going to last very long.

3. Getting an Early Start

If you’re a new player, you can’t afford to wait around until the very end to start the battle. You need to jump in as soon as you can, and you need to be aggressive from the very beginning.
This is especially true if you’re playing in a squad with friends. If you stay on the side for too long, you could get left behind, and you could all lose the battle.

4. Impulsive Decisions

You should also be aware of the fact that, in a game with 99 other players, you’re always going to encounter situations that are extremely tense and very chaotic. There will be situations where you have to make some very fast and impulsive decisions.

That’s why you should always be ready to make those decisions, and you should always be ready to act without thinking. If you hesitate, you’re going to lose your chance.

5. Fortnite is a Team Game

Fortnite is a team game, so it’s important not just to have good aim, but also to have good communication skills. If you team up with players that you trust, you’re going to have an easier time, and you’re going to have a lot more fun.

Finally, if you’re playing in a squad, make sure to always stick together, and make sure that you always stick together. Remember that, as a team, you’re a lot stronger than you are individual.
